Retailing in Korea remained positive in value growth terms, although the rate slowed in 2014. Despite store-based retailing stagnating, non-store retailing continued to record healthy growth rates in value terms, which affected overall retailing. Meanwhile, leading brands of store-based retailers increased their strong performance by enlarging the store size; as a result, the number of stores reduced in 2014, but selling space maintained positive growth rate.
